Y Llofft and Y Stabl are ideally located to explore the stunning Gower peninsula, the first designated Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty. We are right on the Gower Coastal path so as soon as you step foot off the driveway you are directly on some of the best walks in South West Wales! The area is renowned for its unspoilt beaches, with Rhossilli Bay (6 miles away) being consistently named one of the top 10 beaches in the world and the best beach in the UK in a survey by travel website Trip Advisor.
Blue Pool Bay is one of the Gower Peninsula‘s prettiest bays and also one of the quietest. This is thanks to the fact it can only be reached on foot from Broughton just under a mile away. It also helps that the little bay lies between the vast expanses of Rhossili and Broughton beaches which can soak up any number of visitors.
Whiteford Sands and Whiteford Point Lighthouse is located on the north-western tip of Gower. This is a vast two mile expanse of beach leading out along the edge of the Loughor Estuary. This walk is varied and includes the sand dunes of Whiteford Burrows, that are backed by pine trees. This area is a nature reserve owned by the National Trust.
Caswell is a sandy beach with good access and facilities, a popular destination for both visitors and locals all year round, situated ten minutes drive from Mumbles village. The beach shops are geared towards young families, and are well stocked with all the essentials for building sand castles. Swimming is safe, and there is a Lifeguard patrol during the summer months. When conditions prevail, this is a popular surfing beach, particularly at mid to high tide. Close by is the Bishop's Wood nature reserve.
